Danielle Sampey
Consultant
Danielle Sampey earned a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University in Biomedical Science. She furthered her education with post graduate studies in biology, concentrating on disease processes, cellular function, and HIV at University of Houston-Clear Lake. For personal interests she attended Baylor Sports Medical Institute-PFIT to become more familiar with fitness and exercise. She acquired her certificate as a personal trainer from PFIT in 1997 and certification for Rehabilitative Exercise Specialist in 1997.
Danielle has worked in several fields of care including clinical pathology, medical research, and urgent care. During her post graduate studies she began volunteering at the Omega House, a hospice for HIV positive residents. There she found a passion of working with and caring for HIV positive people.
In 1997, Danielle became a rehabilitative exercise trainer at Kinetic Sports Clinic, a clinic treating HIV related wasting. The clinic provided patients a medically supervised treatment including the unprecedented use of progressive resistance exercise to address HIV muscle loss. Within a year, Danielle accepted the position of Program Director at Kinetic. Witnessing the health benefits of exercise as well as the impressive mental and spiritual improvements of the patients when in company of peers, this became her calling. Today she is the director of a charitable organization, Lazarus House, which provides wellness to people with chronic illness.
